What do you need for class?
- A one-inch (1 inch) Three Ring Binder with window and pockets
to hold all your materials. You will create a cover for your
portfolio. This portfolio will be graded and kept in a crate in the music class room. It will contain all your notes, tests and assigned projects for the year.
- A Five (5) part tab divider to categorize your portfolio by the
following labels: Notes, Projects, Tests & Evaluations, Journals, Scripts & Miscellaneous.
- A Pencil available every day for writing.
- An OPEN MIND and willingness to participate. I will respect your favorite music; you will respect mine.
How will you be graded?
- You will be graded by your performance on assignments (both in and out of the classroom), tests and projects. This will be accomplished by the teacher, classmates and by self-evaluation. Music is cooperative by nature and demands honest, shared assessment and teamwork. These will be stored in your portfolio.
- Your portfolio will be graded every 10 weeks and it will be proof of your progress. It will be available for parent conferences.
My website will also be regularly updated with news of what is happening in the classroom.
Classroom Rules:
As a group, your class will discuss and determine the environment necessary to be successful in Fundamentals of Music. Established school rules still apply and are non-negotiable.
