    Dear Parents & Guardians,

I hope this message finds you safe and healthy. I will be posting daily activities on this webpage, a week at a time. The children are expected to do around 2 to 2.5 hours of school work at home.

Please feel free to break up the work into smaller chunks, however it works best for your family. Young children need lots of breaks and movement. Be sure to give them ample time to play and exercise. A good idea might be to do reading activities in the morning and math activities in the afternoon. Whatever works for you, works for me!

The daily activities are very similar to what I have been posting on Class Dojo since the beginning of our school closure. I've added 2 different online activities - Moby Max and RazKids. Both can be accessed by going to www.clever.com. You can sign in under "Seventy Ninth Street School". Your child's user name and password are the same and they were sent to you in an individual Class Dojo message. Once you are on the Clever website, just click on the icon you need. The math site (Moby Max) is green with a whale on it. The reading site (RazKids) is orange with a robot on it. It's listed as Learning A-Z. You will not need individual passwords for these sites if you use the Clever website.

Please hang onto the work your child is completing at home. You may be asked to hand in the work some time in the future. Having them write their answers in a notebook would be an easy way to keep their work organized.

I know that you all have your hands full with work and home obligations. No one is expecting you to teach your child all day long. Do what you can. If your child gets frustrated - take a break. Don't be too hard on yourself. We will be make it through this together.

If you have any problems or questions about anything, don't hesitate to message me on Class Dojo. I will help you in any way that I can.

I'm so lucky to be your child's teacher and I miss them so very much. Give them extra hugs from me and please tell them I love them.

Stay safe and healthy. I hope to see you all very soon.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Yost
